Google is a worldwide brand that is primary known for their search engine. Google’s homepage is a white background with nothing more than their logo and a few links. A very simple and colored logo, the first thing that your eye catches is the Google icon.
But have you notice that from time to time Google changes their logo to commemorate special holidays? Every holiday Google will put up a logo with a theme adhering to the corresponding holiday.
What intrigues me is how they are able to come up with the fresh designs every year yet the holiday themes stay the same. They also design logos for dates that celebrate birthdays and events that have had an impact on society. The list includes artists, musicians, the Olympics, to even the launch of the Sputnik Satellite.

Special Holidays:
Keeping up with their creative logo tradition, Google has not used any birthday or special date more than once. It will be interesting to see how long they can go before they have to design a logo for a holiday that they have used before.

Earth Hour
Created by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund), Earth Day is an annual international event that ask households and businesses to turn off all non-essential light and appliances for one hour to reduce global consumption and promote the awareness of Global Warning. Google contributed their efforts by promoting the event through the blacking out of their webpage for one hour. This year Earth Hour will next take place on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8:30 pm, local time. Be on the look out to see what clever ideas Google has in store for Earth Day!
