“Party All the Time” by Eddie Murphy will likely see it’s last Warroom go round at the 2080’s finale Wednesday, June 17th. The 80’s night ran virtually every week for more than 2 years, and, all kidding aside, I’m actually really sad to see this coming to an end. My ebay-purchased fake dookie chain (one of the best investments I’ve ever made, btw,) is already out of the closet, freshly polished and ready for one more night of nostalgia.

At 2080’s, you won’t hear the last autotune-drenched T-Pain song or another generic southern rapper’s monotonous brags about a host of riveting topics like A)his bankroll, B)his cars, C)his stable of ass-shaking hoes, E)his guns, or, D)all of the above, which is kind of the point. Not that I’m categorically against all of that in music, but it does get old song after song, night after night after night. So if you like hearing hits that haven’t been popular since you were 5 (give or take a few years,) lots of neon and being surrounded by nostalgic-minded individuals who just want to have fun and dance while rocking Kelly Kapowski side-ponytails, acid-washed jeans and extra-high hi-tops, come check it out.
However, if that tired top 40 shit is what you want to hear, go check out virtually any other bar or club in the city any night of the week - they’re all fairly interchangeable. But sometimes, a change is refreshing.
And besides, after Wednesday night, when’s the next time you’ll be able to break out the the hair crimper, rock the extra thick gold chain and Cazals, snap your snap bracelet on your wrist (being careful not to commit inadvertent suicide like that friend of your cousin’s neighbor 20-some years ago) and take the little red corvette out for a spin?
